As part of the Sustainability Action Plan, Tourism Australia has committed to delivering a more sustainable ATE across the triple bottom line of environmental, economic and social impacts.
This will involve a number of new initiatives being introduced to make the event more environmentally friendly including:
- An extensive recycling program and options for reinvesting in the environment
- Qantas offsetting all buyer and media flights through their carbon neutral program
- A commitment to reducing the amount of printed paper in the lead up to and during the event
- Developing a greener media centre by implementing a paperless media collateral environment (where possible) and online registration process.
- Encouraging all ATE sellers to use the event to highlight their own environmental initiatives.
